The names of the 75 startups that will take part in the final of the 2017 Hello Tomorrow Challenge have been announced. Over 3,000 projects from 100+ countries were reviewed, with the ambition to detect and support those that will shape the future. Air Liquide has shown constant engagement towards the Hello Tomorrow Challenge since the first edition in 2014. As part of its open innovation approach, Air Liquide, and more specifically the i-Lab, the Group’s innovation lab, is committed to identifying technologies and uses that may emerge from deep-tech* startups ecosystem.
This year, Air Liquid is supporting the « Energy Transition » category. Among the finalists projects in this category, one can find startups working on the conversion of heat into electricity, the production of renewable energy based on food waste as well as thermodynamic energy storage!
Through this international Challenge, Hello Tomorrow promotes groundbreaking, deep-tech projects addressing key societal issues. Such action is in line with i-Lab’s focus on detecting uses which will shape tomorrow’s industrial landscape and on developing value-creating projects.
*Deep-tech startups are those focusing on disruptive innovation, advanced technology and scientific breakthroughs. They rely on complex technology that requires a long R&D process.
