Coreshell Technologies wins the 2019 Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge in the Energy track supported by Air Liquide

The jury of the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge awarded Coreshell Technologies for its work on an improved Lithium Ion battery technology, that would ultimately improve the energy density, safety, and the cost of energy storage.
Air Liquide has been a partner of the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge since its first edition in 2014, taking part in the selection of the best deep tech startups in the Energy track. This year, Air Liquide teams were involved in many countries. Collaborators met with inspiring and experienced deeptech entrepreneurs at Hello Tomorrow’s regional events in France, Singapore, Turkey and Japan, reflecting the Group’s global open innovation approach.
Over the last 6 months the jury composed of 30 experts from Air Liquide screened 40 candidates from diverse fields and geographies. Coreshell Technologies became a finalist of the competition in the Energy track along with 5 other most promising deeptech startups developing innovative solutions for energy such as drones harvesting energy from altitude wind, or ultra-compact hydrogen generators. The jury evaluated the startups based on technology innovation, economic viability, team and social impact. The efficiency of Coreshell Technologies solution who won the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge has already been proven at lab scale. The growing market of longer-lasting, more efficient, sustainable Li-ion batteries has a large potential of positive environmental, industrial and social impact.
“Connection to such innovation ecosystem as Hello Tomorrow lets Air Liquide access new technologies and help deep-tech entrepreneurs accelerate the industrialisation of their solutions. This win-win collaboration is the principle of our relationship with startups,” says Olivier Delabroy, VP Group Digital Transformation.
